Phil Davis, CCIE #2021, is a cybersecurity-focused systems engineer with more than 30 years of experience helping enterprises evolve their network and security architectures.  A Cincinnati native, Phil has built his career at the intersection of infrastructure and security, working with organizations to solve complex, real-world challenges. He spent 16 years at Cisco designing large-scale network and data center solutions, followed by a leadership role at VMware where he was named NSX SE of the Year.  Phil has since contributed to several high-growth companies including Viptela (SD-WAN), Aviatrix (cloud networking and security), Graphiant (NaaS), and now Elisity, where he focuses on modern microsegmentation strategies. At Elisity, Phil works directly with executive and technical teams to address one of the most persistent gaps in cybersecurity: controlling lateral movement inside the network. He helps organizations implement identity-based segmentation across IT, OT, and IoT/IoMT environments delivering measurable risk reduction without requiring disruptive infrastructure changes. Phil’s current work focuses on helping organizations close the gap between knowing lateral movement is a risk and actually stopping it without the cost and complexity traditionally associated with segmentation.
