Shaun Williams is a Vice President of Engagement Management with Stroz Friedberg, an Aon Company. In this role, Mr. Williams leads complex cyber investigations, helping Clients throughout the entire lifecycle of digital forensics and incident response matters. Mr. Williams has led investigations into cyber attacks by nation-state actors and ransomware groups, as well as insider threat investigations with the theft of intellectual property or sensitive corporate information.
Mr. Williams’ background includes more than 15 years of government service, ending as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Boston Field Office. In this role, Mr. Williams investigated nation state cyber actors, with a particular emphasis on Iran. Mr. Williams also served as a member of the FBI’s Evidence Response Team. Prior to the FBI, Mr. Williams was an Operations Officer with the
Central Intelligence Agency. In this position, Mr. Williams utilized his cybersecurity expertise to inform the U.S. Government’s understanding of adversarial cyber activity targeting U.S. interests, played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. cyber foreign policy, and helped ensure the development of effective
countermeasures to adversarial cyber action.
Mr. Williams began his government career with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service where he specialized in offensive counterintelligence operations and intelligence analysis. In this role, Mr. Williams led the development and deployment of an Insider Threat program within NCIS and the greater Department of the Navy.
