As Accenture’s chief information security officer, Kris Burkhardt leads a team of 1,000 security experts charged with protecting company, client and people data. Kris is accountable for security operations, client data protection, cyber risk reduction strategies, incident response, cybersecurity integration of acquisitions, and an industry-leading behavior change program. Prior to being appointed CISO, Kris helped create Accenture’s Information Security capability and led the implementation of information security technology. Previously, he managed large technology transformations for Accenture and for clients. Kris joined Accenture in 1995, and has served clients in the United States, Japan, and Australia in key industries. He holds an Economics degree from the University of Michigan.
